LIJIANG >>> SHANGRI-LA

This blog is for travel to Shangri-la, Yunnan Province.

Arrived Shangri-la by fast train from Lijiang.

We were here from 22/5/26 - 25/5/26.

ARRIVED SHANGRI-LA STATION

6:22 pm -) train from Lijiang arrived at Shangri-la station as scheduled.

                   

As usual, we called Didi for transport to the hotel in the city.

Trip to Dukezong Ancient Town, Shangri-La took about 20 minutes.

Dukezong Ancient Town, Shangri-La City - North Gate

7:00 pm arrived at the ancient town gate. This is the nearest point Didi can drop us. 

Next would be to get a tricycle service to take us to the hotel located in the ancient town.

As per prior communication with the hotel owner, we waited only a few minutes for her tricycle to come.

MiRA GUESTHOUSE

香格里拉米拉客栈（独克宗古城店）

Tricycle ride to the hotel took about five minutes from the ancient city north gate.

Check-in process was very efficient. All communication was best using we-chat in China.

After checked-in, we just stayed in the room for the rest of the day: after just arriving at a high altitude place (about 3,250 meters). Already we felt a bit difficult with breathing and dizziness. Even the hotel room is equipped with oxygen and breathing devices.
